Poland is gearing up to launch a nationwide deposit return system in 2026, and to lead the charge, reverse vending machine manufacturer REKBOT has partnered with industrial computing specialist ARBOR. This strategic alliance aims to accelerate the deployment of REKBOT's new eco-friendly technology, making recycling easier and more efficient for Polish consumers and driving the country's circular economy. The collaboration was initiated by Maritex, ARBOR's exclusive authorized distributor in Poland. When Maritex received the project requirements from REKBOT, they immediately recognized ARBOR as the ideal partner. The choice was a simple one, as ARBOR's products are renowned for their high quality, exceptional stability, and competitive pricing. Moreover, ARBOR's commitment to efficient delivery times was a key factor in ensuring the project could move forward swiftly to meet the ambitious 2026 deadline. The new policy, which requires a deposit on beverage containers that is refunded upon return, is expected to dramatically increase the demand for reverse vending machines. REKBOT needed a compact, powerful, and easy-to-integrate solution to gain a competitive edge in this rapidly emerging market. “Time-to-market was our biggest concern,” said a representative from REKBOT. “We needed a reliable partner who understood the complexities of our system, from integrating multiple peripherals to simplifying cable management. To optimize this process, they integrated ARBOR's Panel PC SP-120R-1J64 into their vehicle management system, particularly in the sample collection area. This case study explores how the SP-120R-1J64, along with RFID technology, played a pivotal role in streamlining operations and maintaining high-quality standards. The ARBOR Panel PC SP-120R-1J64 is installed within a control cabinet that also includes an RFID reader, a notification speaker, and a barrier gate. This setup functions as a terminal in vehicle management system, primarily used in the raw material sampling area. When a delivery truck arrives at the sampling station, the driver uses an RFID card to initiate the sampling process. Upon scanning the card at the Panel PC, the barrier gate automatically lowers, allowing the sampling procedure to begin. The Panel PC serves as the central control interface, ensuring that all actions are accurately logged and monitored. Once the sampling is complete, the driver scans the card again. This action triggers the barrier gate to rise, permitting the truck to proceed either to the intake area or to a designated waiting area until the quality control (QC) results are available. Since 2005, it has been rated the best airport worldwide by Airports Council International every year. The airport holds an unbreakable record of being ranked the Best Airport Worldwide for 7 years by the Airports Council International (ACI)'s Airport Service Quality award. For a busy International Airport with an average of 1,600 daily flights like Incheon International Airport, the simplicity and durability of flight information systems and baggage control systems is the most important thing. The ARBOR ELIT-1650 not only fulfills these requirements but also fully complies with airport construction specifications. Now, 800 units of ELIT-1650 are installed as the flight Information and baggage control systems in Incheon International Airport providing efficient and durable service for hundreds of thousands of passengers passing through this airport. Challenge On average, there are 1,600 daily flights that are displayed in the information express terminal in Incheon International Airport. The core requirement of industrial computers for the flight information system is high-performance, stability, quality and business continuity for quick and accurate flight information services provided to travelers. ARBOR knew the requirements of an extremely busy information broadcasting systems. When cooperating with system integrator for Incheon Airport project, both sides showed the best expertise and solution to help our client enhancing competitiveness and achieve their business objectives. To build and sustain such an enormous computing system, the simplicity and durability of the IPC is the first priority. Solution ELIT-1650 Comparing with previous solutions of other industrial computer suppliers, ARBOR ELIT-1650 is a more compact and reliable solution because of fan less system, low power consumption, and a detailed specification which is airport construction compliant. The overview of application scenario is as follows: Flight information terminals consist of a large screen display, an industrial computer, a power supply, and the housing. Incheon International Airport flight information data is transferred from the server via a dedicated network to the display. Result The reliability of industrial computers is the most important factor for the current ICT trends. Specs and features have been developed in a variety of industrial computers to support these trends. ARBOR’s rugged FPC-7701 industrial fanless Box PC has been chosen for its reliability and configuration flexibility. ARBOR Technology, a leading provider of embedded computing solutions, is pleased to announce that Eurotunnel has selected ARBOR’s FPC-7701 fanless Box PC for both its manned and fully automated toll booths which require reliable ruggedized embedded computing systems to maximize check-in efficiency. Processes such as number plate recognition, barrier control and ticket printing are controlled through this PC interface. Learn more about ARBOR’s IoV Solutions at Built in 1994, the Channel Tunnel between United Kingdom and France is a key connection for the European high-speed transport and plays an important role for regional economic development. The Channel Tunnel is used by 2.5 million cars, 1.5 million trucks and 21 million people every year. High-speed passenger trains and rail freight trains also run through the tunnel. Originally the Industrial Box PC was specified as a fan cooled system, ARBOR Technology UK proposed a more reliable fanless solution. Selecting the FPC-7701 from ARBOR’s extensive range of ruggedized Industrial Box PC products, gave the ideal base platform, additional I/O was then added using the PCI and PCIe expansion ports. This coupled with the Intel® Core™ i5 CPU and an extended operating temperature range of -20 ~ 55°C, meant that the ARBOR fanless Box PC FPC-7701 exceeded the required specifications. A demo system was delivered within 1 week of request, allowing Eurotunnel to evaluate the proposed hardware, check compatibility with their custom software and conduct the extensive testing required to ensure the long term reliability would be achieved. Custom metalwork was designed by ARBOR Technology UK to enable the Fanless Box PC to fit onto the existing mounting points. By using in-house CAD modeling the design concepts could be evaluated without the need for prototyping.
